Governance and Administration in Meßstetten – March 2026

In March 2026, the Municipal Council of Meßstetten engaged intensively with infrastructural, administrative, and social issues. From the construction of a new functional building to the establishment of a citizens' foundation and the expansion of the Bueloch Kindergarten – the decisions reflect a clear municipal development perspective.

Municipal Governance in Focus: Meßstetten in March 2026

In March 2026, Meßstetten saw the center of attention shift to numerous infrastructural and administrative decisions. The Municipal Council met on March 4, 2026, in the town hall and laid the foundation for several long-term projects aimed at sustainably improving the quality of life in the municipality. The discussions and decisions illustrate how governance and administration in Meßstetten actively anticipate future challenges.

Infrastructure Projects: From Kindergarten to Sports Grounds

In March, decisive steps were taken toward the expansion of the Bueloch Kindergarten and the redesign of the Bueloch sports and leisure facility. The construction work for the kindergarten was awarded to Berger GmbH from Meßstetten with a budget of nearly 365,000 euros. The work is scheduled to begin in April 2026 and be completed by the end of June.

In parallel, the company Timberman GbR was commissioned with landscape and garden construction work, with a contract value of 581,071.17 euros. The project is part of the urban renewal initiative in Bueloch and is supported at 60 percent. The start of construction is planned for April 2026, with completion expected by mid-November 2026.

Another project is the construction of a new functional building on the Geißbühl sports grounds. The design phase was approved by the Municipal Council, and the firm Kubus360 was tasked with the implementation planning. The fee framework is 83,627.20 euros, and construction costs are estimated at around 1.28 million euros.

Citizens' Foundation Meßstetten: A New Social Impulse

To strengthen the social and cultural life in Meßstetten, the establishment of the Citizens' Foundation Meßstetten was decided. The foundation will be set up under the umbrella of Sparkasse Zollernalb (foundation "I support the future") and will become active with an initial financial endowment of 100,000 euros. The foundation charter was adopted, and it is planned to elect the foundation board next.

Special attention was given to avoiding duplicate structures. Discussions with the Meßstetten Foundation for Elderly Care have already begun to enable integration into the Citizens' Foundation. The foundation will be managed by trustees and has clear objectives in the areas of education, culture, and social commitment.

Administrative and Legal Decisions

In addition to infrastructural topics, the Municipal Council also dealt with administrative and legal aspects. A usage regulation for the municipal mobile toilet was adopted. The toilet will be provided free of charge to municipal associations and institutions in the future, with the municipal works department responsible for transportation and connection work. The costs for these services are estimated at 714 euros.

Another focus was the appointment of two assessors for the Joint Assessor Committee Albstadt. Oliver Rentschler and Ernst Berger were unanimously proposed. Their term of office will begin on July 1, 2026, and end on June 30, 2030. This decision is part of the continuous cooperation with neighboring municipalities and promotes transparency in municipal governance processes.

Outlook: Governance with Future Security

The decisions of the Municipal Council in March 2026 show how Meßstetten actively implements its governance strategy. By combining investments in education, sports, and leisure with the creation of social structures such as the Citizens' Foundation, the municipality will remain viable not only today but also in the future. The transparent and citizen-oriented processes in the Meßstetten town hall significantly contribute to building trust in municipal administration.
