Sewer Construction and Renovation: Long-Term Investments in Infrastructure

In March 2026, Freiberg's Committee for Construction and Operations decided to renew the combined sewer system in Moritzstraße and the foul and stormwater sewer systems in Himmelfahrtsgasse. These measures are part of a long-term strategy to prepare the city's infrastructure for the future.

The renewal of Moritzstraße will be carried out in two construction phases and awarded to the company Andreas Adam GmbH. The total amount is 710,000 euros including VAT, funded from the liquidity plans of the municipal enterprise FREIBERGER ABWASSERBESEITIGUNG. Construction is scheduled to begin in April 2026 and is expected to end in October 2027, with a planned winter break.

Himmelfahrtsgasse will also be renovated, with a budget of 1.655 million euros. The contract was awarded to the company Landschaftsgestaltung Straßen-, Tief- und Wasserbau GmbH. The construction period is limited to the second half of 2026.

These investments are not only necessary to ensure proper wastewater disposal, but also to increase road safety and meet the demands of modern cities.

Energy Infrastructure: Approval of the Battery Storage in Oberschöna
