Ense in April 2026: Housing, Sports, and Wind Power in Focus

In April 2026, Ense made key decisions in the areas of housing construction, sports promotion, and renewable energy.

Living, Sport, and Wind – Ense Looks Back on an Active April

What was important this month

  • Creating housing: A multi-family house with ten residential units in Lüttringen was approved.
  • Promoting sports: The Höinger SV and the SG Oberense received subsidies for renovations.
  • Wind power in planning: Two wind turbines, including one with a height of 262 meters, are being discussed.
  • Music promotion strengthened: More funding for music associations and young people.
  • School construction advanced: Expansion measures for childcare places at primary schools are in planning.

Housing and the Construction Acceleration Program: Ense Invests in Future-Oriented Planning

In April, the Committee for Planning, Construction, and Transport decided on the construction of a multi-family house with ten residential units in Lüttringen. This project is an important signal for the housing market in the municipality and underlines the commitment to private investments in housing.

In addition, guidelines for the Construction Acceleration Program (§ 246e BauGB) were adopted. These accelerate the approval process for certain construction projects. Case group 1 can be processed within a year without a political decision, while case group 2 still requires political approval.

Another focus was wind energy: The 98th amendment to the land use plan provides for the construction of two wind turbines in the rural area of Niederense. One of them would reach a total height of 262 meters. The early public and administrative consultation has already been decided, and the planning documents are available online.

Sports and Culture: Ense Invests in Associations and Music Promotion

The Committee for Education, Social Affairs, Volunteerism, and Sports actively supported the sports and cultural scene. The Höinger SV 1924 e.V. received subsidies for the renovation of the tennis courts, and the SG Oberense for the renovation of the toilet facilities at the club house. In total, several thousand euros in funding from the 2026 budget were made available.

In addition, the music promotion guidelines were updated: The basic grant for music associations increased from 300 to 400 euros, and the subsidy per young person was raised from 9 to 12 euros. These changes took effect retroactively from January 1, 2026.

The fee regulation of the music school was also adjusted. From January 2026, there was a one-time increase of 10 percent, followed by annual adjustments of 1.5 percent from 2027. These measures aim to ensure the financial sustainability of the music school.

School Construction and Childcare: Ense Works on the Future of Primary Schools

To implement the legal entitlement to childcare at primary schools by 2029, Ense is planning expansion measures at three primary schools. In Hünningen, the building permit has already been submitted, and approval is expected shortly.

The agreement with the district of Soest for the implementation of childcare places was approved, based on the legal foundations of the SGB VIII. This is a key milestone for the educational and childcare landscape in Ense.

Overview: Development in Motion – Housing, Sport, and Climate Change in Focus

The decisions made in April 2026 show that Ense is actively responding to various challenges. On the one hand, housing is being created to meet demand, and on the other hand, infrastructure for sports and culture is being expanded. At the same time, the expansion of renewable energies is being advanced – a sign of the balance between growth and sustainability that the municipality is pursuing.

The combination of private initiative, state funding, and political planning makes Ense a municipality in motion – one that focuses on both the needs of its citizens and future challenges.

Conclusion and Outlook

April 2026 was a month of progress in Ense. Housing, wind power, sports, and education were at the center of the decisions – topics that directly affect the quality of life for residents. The approvals and investments show that Ense is not only responding to current needs but also planning for the long term. May will be interesting to see whether the planned projects move into implementation and how the wind power planning develops.
