Sports Policy in Rosengarten: Investments, Inclusion, and Future Visions
In February 2026, the Committee for Youth, Social Affairs, and Sports of the municipality of Rosengarten set important impulses for the sporting infrastructure, integration, and long-term planning. In addition to investments in club facilities and the introduction of new projects, the future of the forest bath was also a focal point. An overview.
Sports Policy in Rosengarten: February 2026 as a Catalyst
February 2026 was an intense month for sports policy in the municipality of Rosengarten. The Committee for Youth, Social Affairs, and Sports set several milestones that are both infrastructural and socially oriented. With the introduction of the new sports coordinator Magnus Muffert, the review of funding for sports facilities, and investments in club projects, the municipality shows a broad commitment to movement, inclusion, and securing the future of local sports.
Investments in Club Facilities and Sports Venues
One of the committee's focal points in 2026 was the promotion of investments in sports clubs and facilities. Approximately 250,000 euros in funding were approved for projects such as the planned artificial turf pitch of FC Rosengarten or the extension of a multi-purpose hall by the Schützenverein Sieversen-Leversen. Particularly notable is the funding for barrier-free access and photovoltaic systems – a signal for sustainability and inclusion.
The investment guidelines of the municipality provide for funding of up to 20 percent of construction costs, with the respective clubs assuming the main responsibility for financing. For example, FC Rosengarten will receive a maximum of 250,000 euros for the artificial turf pitch, which is described as particularly significant for the sporting future of the municipality.
In addition, club representatives such as Kai-Wilhelm Erhorn (FC Rosengarten) were actively involved in the meeting and emphasized the importance of such investments for the entire region. These investments are not only financially significant, but also symbolic: they show the municipality's willingness to engage with clubs as partners in sports.
The New Coordinator: Magnus Muffert and the Project "Rosengarten in Bewegung"
With the introduction of Magnus Muffert as the new sports coordinator, Rosengarten is establishing a professional structure to strengthen sports offerings for all age groups. Muffert was introduced in the meeting on February 5, 2026, and is responsible for coordinating the project "Rosengarten in Bewegung." The goal is to expand sports offerings, promote sports disciplines, and connect people of different origins.
A central point in the project is the planned "Intercultural Sports Day," which aims to actively integrate refugees into the sports landscape. Muffert also plans to continue the so-called "lighthouse projects" and establish planned events such as the TT-Rundlauf-Cup or the Open Sports Night. These initiatives are not only sports-related, but also socially activating and strengthen the community.
Future of the Forest Bath: From Chlorine to Natural Purification
Another focus was the renovation and redesign of the forest bath in Sieversen. In the meeting, it was decided to commission a feasibility study for the transformation of the bath into a natural bath. Natural baths are more cost-effective in the long term as they do not require chlorine gas systems and the water is biologically purified.
The administration was tasked with obtaining offers for the study. 40,000 euros have already been allocated in the 2026 budget for the modernization of dosing technology. The costs for a complete renovation are estimated in the seven-figure range. With a renovation including stainless steel basins and barrier-free through-flow basins, the forest bath will become more attractive and future-ready.
The planning is long-term, as the entire realization may take about two years. Nevertheless, the sports committee will remain active in order to contribute to the implementation – including the possibility of applying for subsidies in a second application window for energy-efficient renovations.
Outlook: Integration, Investments, and Sustainability
February 2026 marks a milestone in the sports policy of the municipality of Rosengarten. With investments in club facilities, the introduction of Magnus Muffert, and the planning for the forest bath, a broad commitment is evident. The combination of social integration, sports infrastructure and sustainability makes Rosengarten a model for municipal sports policy.
In the future, it will be particularly interesting to observe how the project "Rosengarten in Bewegung" is established and what impact the transformation of the forest bath will have on the region. With a clear strategy and long-term planning, Rosengarten has set the course for a sports-active and inclusive future.
