Urban Planning and Participation: The Zoning Plan "Ahrensdorfer Heide"
The zoning plan No. 46 for the area Ahrensdorfer Heide – Garden City in the Rousseau Park – is a central topic in Ludwigsfelde. The Building Committee and the Local Council Ahrensdorf have approved the draft. The plan includes, among other things, tiered building heights, noise protection measures, and planting obligations.
Particularly noteworthy is the participation of the public and authorities, which is now beginning. Citizens have the opportunity to submit objections. The goal is to create a sustainable, barrier-free, and vibrant residential development that is in harmony with nature.
Investments and Budget Planning: 48.5 Million Euros for 2026
In March 2026, investment loans totaling 48.5 million euros were approved. These include two loans from the city leadership in January and another one of 10 million euros from the state of Brandenburg.
These funds are part of the municipal investment program and will be used for major projects such as infrastructure development, expansion of social services, and implementation of new urban development projects. The interest reduction for these loans amounts to approximately 941,000 euros for Ludwigsfelde.
In addition, the draft budget for 2026 has been revised, as financial conditions have changed. The local councils are discussing how the district budget can be used in the coming months.
Citizen Participation: From the Senior Citizens' Council to the Council for the Disabled
Citizen participation is a central concern in Ludwigsfelde. The Senior Citizens' Council plans, among other things, the "Intergenerational Creative Meeting", where bowling and crafting will be enjoyed together. In addition, a local walk and a Senior Citizens' Week are in the planning stages.
The Council for the Disabled has decided to organize an inclusive disco, aiming to bring together people with and without disabilities. At the March meeting, an interim report on the first 1.5 years of the council's work was also presented.
In the local councils such as Genshagen, Gröben, Jütchendorf, Kerzendorf, and Ahrensdorf, topics such as village festivals, snow removal, and kindergarten funding were also discussed. For example, in Genshagen, 1,500 euros were approved for a kindergarten excursion and 150 euros for Easter handicraft activities.
Citizen Questions and Discussions: Active Participation in Focus
In several sessions, there were citizen question hours, in which current topics were discussed. In Genshagen, for example, questions regarding parking lot markings and access routes in the "Zum Storchenhorst" area were raised. In Kerzendorf, discussions focused on the preparation of the flea market and village festival.
The City Council also approved a citizen motion from the citizens' initiative "Naturschutz Siethen" and discussed the financial support for SV Siethen 1977 e.V. for an Easter fire event.
Outlook: Topics in April
In April 2026, the focus will be on the further implementation of the zoning plan, the planning of the inclusive disco, and the further development of citizen participation. The citizen question hours and public meetings will remain central elements to include the opinions and concerns of citizens.
