Planning and Infrastructure: The Carlensteichweg and Fire Station
In April 2026, the city of Bad Waldsee made decisions on two significant infrastructure projects. On one hand, the Carlensteichweg was finally included in the planning process. The Committee for Environment, Technology, and Sustainability passed a unanimous decision to proceed with the planning in Performance Phase 3 according to § HOAI. The engineering firm Kohler in Berg will provide the planning services.
On the other hand, the construction of the new fire station in Michelwinnaden was unanimously adopted as an implementation decision. With a budget of approximately 1.62 million euros, the project is financially secured. Before construction planning, a further information session for residents is planned to involve those affected.
Land Use Plan: Changes for Bad Waldsee and Bergatreute
During the Municipal Council meeting and the joint committee of the administrative community, two amendments to the land use plan were unanimously approved.
- The 22nd amendment to the land use plan in the area of the building plan "Fire Station Michelwinnaden" was approved. The area of 0.26 hectares will be used in the future as a public need area (Category F = Fire Department).
- The 21st amendment to the land use plan in the area of the building plan "Lohbühl I – Expansion" in the municipality of Bergatreute was also unanimously approved.
Both amendments will now be publicly displayed for one month to allow affected parties, authorities, and public interest stakeholders to submit comments.
Finance: Unanimous Approval of the 2023 Annual Report
The 2023 annual financial report of Bad Waldsee was unanimously confirmed. The city showed a total result of 5.999 million euros. The final cash balance amounted to 8.104 million euros.
The final audit report also showed that the 2023 balance sheet of 221.244 million euros increased by 18.366 million euros compared to the previous year. The surplus of financial resources amounted to 10.247 million euros.
Personal and Political Decisions
April also brought personnel decisions. Mr. Hubert Gärtner was unanimously elected as the second deputy mayor in the municipal council of Reute-Gaisbeuren. Additionally, Mr. Martin Langosch and Mr. Manuel Lemmle were confirmed as section commander and deputy section commander of the emergency section Michelwinnaden.
Furthermore, the Municipal Council unanimously rejected the motion for municipal consent for wind energy facilities near Osterhofen.
Outlook for May
May 2026 promises to be another exciting month. With the public display of the land use plan amendments and the further planning of the Carlensteichweg, several decision-making processes are in progress. In addition, the expansion of broadband infrastructure in the region will remain a focus.
