Cultural Program 2026: Literature, Theater, and Sustainability

In April 2026, it was announced that the restoration work would continue with support from the Federal Infrastructure Special Fund. Up to 1.2 million euros are to be allocated for this purpose.

The restoration not only serves the preservation of historical building stock but also enhances the attractiveness of cultural events. The association has already invested several hundred thousand euros in labor, materials, and cash since 2005 and also covers the operating costs for water, electricity, and sewage on the castle grounds.

With the goal of developing a sports development concept, it was decided to conduct a representative municipal citizen survey. 6,000 randomly selected residents aged 10 and older will participate, with the selection distributed across the city districts.

The results of the survey will feed into the creation of the sports development concept. This allows for a transparent and participatory process that takes into account the wishes and needs of the population. The exchange between the administration and the citizens is thus strengthened, which is of great importance for the city's long-term development.
