Großenlüder: Urban Development and Infrastructure in March 2026

In March 2026, the municipality of Großenlüder took a number of key steps in the areas of urban development and construction. The Building Committee, among other things, approved a simplified land consolidation process, the 49th amendment to the land use plan, and the development of a preservation concept for the road network. These measures are part of a comprehensive strategy to modernize infrastructure and ensure sustainable development.

Großenlüder: Urban Development and Infrastructure in March 2026

The municipality of Großenlüder addressed a number of central topics in urban development and construction in March 2026. The Building Committee met on March 17 to coordinate important planning and infrastructure decisions. The outcomes of this meeting show how the municipality intends to strengthen its infrastructure in the coming years while pursuing ecological and economic goals.

Simplified Land Consolidation Procedure for the Implementation of SILEK

A central topic of the meeting was the simplified land consolidation procedure according to § 86 of the Land Consolidation Act (FlurbG) in the municipal area of Großenlüder. The aim is to implement the SILEK objectives (improvement of structures in agriculture and forestry, integration of cultural landscapes). The procedure affects an area of approximately 730 hectares with around 285 participants.

The municipality plans to cover its share of 547,500 euros in order to accelerate the process and advance infrastructure measures such as the expansion of the network of economic roads and flood protection. Funding of up to 75% is planned for this.

The process is tightly scheduled: a public information event is planned for April 2026, the land consolidation decision is expected in September, and the election of the board of the participant association is to take place in November. The municipality will implement the procedure in cooperation with the Office for Soil Management in Fulda.

49th Amendment to the Land Use Plan and Project and Development Plan

Another key topic was the 49th amendment to the land use plan and the project and development plan No. 15 "North of Strickweg" in the municipal area of Müs. After early public and official consultation, there were no objections or suggestions. The amendment includes, among other things, the designation of mixed-use building areas (M) and residential building areas (W).

A central project is the approval of a residential building with a double garage, guest apartment, and horse stable on parcel 46/5. The plan also includes provisions for surface water management and ensuring the electricity, water, and sewage infrastructure. The Lower Water Authority and other responsible authorities have not raised any objections.

Maintenance Concept for the Road Network

Another focus of the meeting was the development of a maintenance concept for the municipal road network. In 2025, the municipality conducted a comprehensive condition survey and derived priorities for road renewals from it. Approximately 470,000 square meters of paved areas were recorded, and the assessment resulted in an average condition of 2.6 (condition class 4). Without maintenance measures, the condition would deteriorate to 3.7 by 2035.

The municipality has scheduled twelve street sections for comprehensive renewal in 2026 and 2027. Four additional streets are planned for final development. The priority list will be included in the budget and investment planning to ensure funding.

Outlook: Sustainability and Planning Security

With these decisions, Großenlüder demonstrates how important forward-looking and sustainable planning is for the future of the municipality. The combination of land consolidation procedures, amendments to the land use plan, and the maintenance concept for the road network provides a comprehensive approach to modernize infrastructure and achieve ecological and economic goals.

The next steps – including the public information event in April and the implementation of construction measures – will be crucial for putting the approved projects into practice.
