Safety on New Legs

Safety for residents is a central issue in Dießen. On March 23, the Municipal Council approved the award of two new HLF 20 vehicles for the volunteer fire department. The investment of nearly 1.54 million euros demonstrates a clear commitment to strengthening firefighting capabilities. In addition, Hans Goldhahn and Bertram Paul were reconfirmed as commanders of the volunteer fire department in Obermühlhausen, ensuring continuity in the fire protection organization.

Energy Policy on Course

In March, the municipal heat plan was unanimously adopted as a strategic foundation. This plan is a milestone on the path to a climate-friendly energy supply. It forms the basis for future decisions in the areas of heating technology, heat networks, and energy efficiency. Furthermore, the electricity procurement tender for the years 2027–2029 was approved. This measure is a step toward stabilizing energy costs and ensuring energy security.

Urban Design and Administration in Transition

Important decisions regarding the design of the city were made in the Building and Environment Committee. Improvements to sidewalks in several streets, including Von-Eichendorff-Straße and Von-Schorn-Weg, will be implemented starting in 2027. In addition, the playground regulation was revised: playgrounds must now generate 75% of the land valuation value, increasing the financial responsibility of property owners.

Another topic was the request from the Senior Advisory Council for speed limits on inner-city state roads. The decision is being postponed until the application guidelines from the Bavarian Ministry of the Interior are submitted. This illustrates the sensitivity of the city administration to the needs of the elderly population.
