Bobingen March 2026: Construction Projects, Finances, and Care Services

March 2026 brought important decisions in the areas of construction, finances, and education for Bobingen. Here is a monthly review at a glance.

Urban Development, Finances, and Care – March in Bobingen

What Was Important This Month

  • Approvals for new construction projects, such as a daycare center, single-family homes, and a multi-family residence, were granted.
  • The 2024 annual accounts of Bobingen Stadtwerke were confirmed – with a profit of over 359,000 euros.
  • The right to full-day care for elementary school students will be implemented starting August 2026; current care services are largely already fully utilized.
  • The setback area regulation is no longer in effect – as of March 1, 2026, new Bavarian building standards apply.
  • New care spots at the Alte Mädchenschule are planned for the 2026/2027 school year.

Construction Projects and Urban Planning Decisions

The Bobingen Committee for Construction, Planning, and the Environment made key preliminary statements in March regarding future building projects. On one hand, approvals were granted – particularly for the construction of a daycare center with six groups at Sommerstraße 12, marking a milestone for the city's childcare infrastructure. Additionally, a single-family home at Ellis-Kaut-Straße 3 and a multi-family residence with three apartments at Südliche Fraunhoferstraße 4a were approved.

On the other hand, two projects were rejected as they did not align with the urban development concept: a multi-family residence with nine apartments at Lindauer Straße 33 and a double garage at Max-Fischer-Straße 12d. Notably, the project at Südliche Fraunhoferstraße 4a was approved under conditions – including the assessment of noise protection measures.

As of March 1, 2026, the new Maß H of the Bavarian Building Code applies. This has implications for future construction projects in terms of distances and usage. The old setback area regulation is therefore no longer valid.

Financial Development and Budget

In March 2026, the City Council confirmed the 2024 annual accounts of Bobingen Stadtwerke. With an annual profit of 359,592.08 euros and a balance sheet total of over 34 million euros, the company is financially stable. At the same time, the first supplemental budget for the years 2025 and 2026 was adopted, without any financial impact on ongoing budget items.

Furthermore, the Urban Redevelopment Regulation "Bobingen Stadt" was approved, enabling the structured continuation of redevelopment measures in urban districts. Overall, the city of Bobingen's budget remains stable, despite small deficits – such as a deficit compensation of 973.34 euros to the Josef-Dilger-Stiftung – recorded in the 2024 annual accounts.

Care and Education: Full-Day Offers in the Spotlight

In the Cultural, Sports, and Social Committee, full-day care offers for elementary school students were in focus. Starting August 2026, the right to full-day care will apply to first graders, and from 2029 to all elementary school students. Bobingen currently has 95 after-school care spots (provider: Church), 76–94 spots at the full-day school, and 280 lunch care spots (provider: City). Out of these, 144 spots meet the legal requirement. For the 2026/2027 school year, all first graders who request care are already covered.

The Alte Mädchenschule will be used as a new care facility starting the next school year, offering 100 spots in four groups. For the branch in Oberottmarshausen, care is regulated through the municipal cost bearer. To determine the demand for the next year, parent questionnaires were distributed – reliable numbers will be available from April 2026.

Cross-topic: The Challenge of Urban Development

The decisions made in March 2026 show that Bobingen is progressing on multiple levels: in urban infrastructure with new construction projects, in financial stability through the Stadtwerke, and in education with the implementation of the right to full-day care. At the same time, it becomes clear that planning and coordination – especially regarding construction projects and care services – must be carefully aligned to meet the needs of citizens in the long term.

Final Summary and Outlook

March 2026 was marked in Bobingen by clearer decisions in urban development, financial stability, and a strong focus on education and care. With the implementation of the right to full-day care and the expansion of care spots, the city becomes more attractive for families. The construction projects show that Bobingen remains active in real estate development – within the framework of urban development conditions and the new building code.

In April, further details on summer care and the implementation of the urban redevelopment regulation will be in focus. In addition, the summer operations of the Aquamarin with vacation offers and special events such as moonlight swimming will be in the spotlight.
